Founder: Vaidyar Muthirayil Sri P. Govinda Panicker
Sri Govinda Panicker was born in 1913 into the esteemed Muthirayil family of Ayurveda practitioners in Kunnathunadu taluk, Ernakulam district, Kerala. He dedicated his life to studying, researching, and documenting the Ayurvedic wisdom inherited from his ancestors, guided by his gurus, ancient scripts, and his own treatment experiences.
Under the guidance of his uncle, Padmanabhapanikar, he studied Ayurveda, Astrology, Tantric practices, and Tachushastra through the ancient Gurukul system. His expertise spanned Physiotherapy within Ayurveda and extended to Yoga chikitsa, Vriksha Ayurveda, Matu chikitsa, Matanga chikitsa, Siddha therapy, Lata chikitsa, and Ottamuli chikitsa, all imparted by his distinguished Guru.
Govinda Panicker was a registered Ayurvedic Practitioner with the Travancore Medical Council, founded in 1944, and served as a government physician. His profound knowledge also included the martial art of Kalari and marma chikitsa. As the author of the respected “Ayurveda Arogya Vijanan Kosham,” he compiled his extensive experience, insights, and rare knowledge from ancient scrolls. Sri Govinda Panicker’s illustrious journey concluded on August 15, 1997, at the age of 86, leaving behind a rich legacy of Ayurvedic wisdom.
